Born and raised near South Bend, Ind., was taken on a couple summer road trips out west as a young boy, studied at the Indiana University School of Journalism, worked for newspapers in Vermont, New Hampshire and Indiana, attended the 65th Missouri Photo Workshop, and after 16 years of longing, moved to the Northern Rockies - first for two years as a staff photographer at Wyoming's statewide newspaper, the Casper Star-Tribune, and now as a staff photographer at the Jackson Hole News&Guide.
Outside daily newspaper assignments and contributions to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, my current work focuses on westward migration and the perceptions, expectations, dreams and realities of those who have crossed the great interior for a new life in the American West, and on a more personal level, breaking down my own fairytale perceptions of the romanticized roadside West I came to love as a child.
Always on the road and always up for new experiences. Please don't hesitate to be in touch.
